Dangerous Treatments
By Deena Fine

There are of course, many treatment options out there for various conditions and sicknesses that may seem a little odd. While most of them are perfectly harmless and can actually do a lot of good for a person, there are many dangerous treatments out there being recommended to people on a daily basis. It is extremely important to make sure that you are completely aware of the facts so that you never place yourself or a loved one in harm's way, even though your intent is to heal.

Acid Toxicity and Boric Acid

Boric acid is something that many people claim to be the perfect solution for yeast infections. Using this substance, either as a solution or as a powder, is simply not a good idea. Even though boric acid was used therapeutically many years ago in the past, it is not being used now so much. In fact, if a consumer looks closely then he or she will notice that boric acid that is ninety-nine percent pure is being used in household pesticide products. This is something that has to be brought to light more often as boric acid simply is not a safe treatment for yeast infection or anything else that you have medically wrong with you. Physicians and anyone else that feels they can give advice on medical treatments should be aware of the boric acid toxicity potential.

Tea Tree Oil

Even though there are many different health benefits to using tea tree oil there are things that you must be aware. By knowing the difference between what is acceptable use of tea

tree oil and what is not, you will be able to remain safe and completely healthy. Many people use tea tree oil for skin irritation and for cuts, which is perfectly fine. It is even said to do wonders for acne problems. But as you start to learn about all of its wonderful uses, you will see that tea tree oil is for external use only. Any remedy out there that suggests a person ingest tea tree oil should be avoided. This oil is to always be kept away from the eyes and the mouth at all times. If any is ingested, you will want to contact a poison control center right away.

Garlic Oil

Many people will swear by the stories they have heard about garlic oil doing wonders for people, but this combination of garlic in oil can cause a person a lot of problems. Garlic in oil mixtures has shown to have a risk of botulism, which is a rare food borne disease. Even though the disease is rare, it is extremely deadly which means it should be avoided at all costs. Being there have been so many cases of botulism from garlic oil in the late 1980s, there were safety measures put into place by the Food and Drug Administration so that fewer cases pop up. In the end, it is solely up to you to make sure that you are taking healthy things into your body or using remedies that are completely safe. Just because someone advised you something they heard their grandmother talking about does not make it safe to use. Be careful and make sure to consult your doctor before treating yourself and you should be fine.
